Here’s the one where I interviewed Michael Showalter for The Daily Beast. It’s gonna take me a while to recover from the moment this past Monday morning when I received a phone call and the voice on the other end said, “Hi Katie - this is Michael Showalter!” I died.
Michael’s new book, Mr. Funny Pants, is completely hilarious, so it wasn’t difficult to gush my way through the conversation. We had a lovely chat and I told him I’d planned on attending his Q&A at Barnes & Noble (you can check out the video of his appearance here). He asked me to, “Come say hi,” so that’s exactly what I did last night - and he was just as lovely in person.
Of course, I didn’t push it and ask him to autograph my book. Though I really wanted to…
Hollywood mash-up’s are the new black, ya’ll. (I personally think I’m onto something with that birthday clown revenge plot!)
My latest for the MTV Movies Blog was a fun afternoon project…though I did kinda lose my appetite for lunch, and I may’ve dislocated my finger from all the haphazard space bar pushing in order to locate/capture screenshots. For journalism!
I’m a sucker for bathroom graffiti. This shot was taken at Library Bar on the LES of NYC, somewhere in the deep, dark, drunken recesses of the wee small hours of the morning (then consequently forgotten about until today, when surfing my cell).
I really wish I had more than a camera phone to work with in the space, but - alas - my Canon EOS Rebel T1i doesn’t exactly fit in an evening bag.
…And some days, your editor asks if you can take an hour out of your regularly scheduled day job to write a fun post, and you put up an AIM away message, throw on some headphones and say, “HELL YES.”
My second round of Toy Fair photos is up! Let’s just say…I won the Javits Center on Sunday, but I may’ve lost 10 years of life in the process.
My first round of pics tied to this past weekend’s coverage of Toy Fair 2011 just hit the Internets! These are from Saturday’s Hasbro media & collector preview. Frankly, aside from my uncanny ability to battle paparazzi (thanks for the training, NYC subway!), I had no idea what I was doing. As my little sister likes to say, “Ya gotta fake it ‘til ya make it!”
